Raw Material
Polypropylene Random Copolymer corresponds to
German DIN standard:
a) DIN 8077 Dec. 1997 -
PP-Pipe Dimensions.
b) DIN 8078 April 1996
- PP-Pipe general quality requirement
and testing.

Production
Production of PP-R
pipes and fittings corresponds to following International
Standards:
a) E-DIN 1988 - Drinking
water lines in premises.
b) DIN 8078 -
PP-pipes general quality requirements and testing.
c) DIN 16928 - Pipe
connections and component layouts.
d) DVS 2207 -
Welding regulations for plastic pipes.
e) DVS 223 -
Testing of welding connections of thermoplastic plastics.
f) DIN 16962 -
Pipe joints and components for pressure pipes of Polypropylene.

MFI (Melt Flow index) Test Device:
This device is used in simulating the material’s flow behavior
before being processed in the extruder or Automatic Injection Moulder. This device gives
information regarding the flow rate of the material in the unit
temperature and time. We are maintaining our 'SFMC' brand
PP-R pipes and fittings at -
MFi at 190oC for 5 Kgs = 0.4 gms/10minutes |
|
PP-R pipes are light and flexible, Their transportation and
installation is easier. |

Dimensional:
Check carried out on each pipe size at regular intervals of half
an hour. Parameters being maintained
as per DIN 8077. |
|
| |
Impact Stength Test:
The test is carried out after every 8 hours of produce at
Pendulum Impact Testing Machine. |
Future of Plumbing |
|
Unique joining Procedure which insures homogenous leak proof
jointing. |
| |
Creep Rupture Test:
This is basically a Hydrostatic Pressure Test carried out at
regular interval for pressure testing of the pipe extruded. To
monitor the strength of the pipes to the pressure, a pressure
test is applied under 100 hours at 20oC and 165 hours
and 1000 hours (80oC) |

Installation |

Furnace - Deep Freezer:
This device is used for shock cooling or heating. In certain
intervals of time impact test is applied on the material, which
is held in the furnace of deep freezer, and its behavior is
monitored at different test temperatures. |
|
The
installation of SFMC Polypropylene Random Copolymer pipes is
similar to that of metal pipes. |
| |
Reversion Test:
This test is done to check for the thermal stability of the PP-R
pipes. This test is important because at considerably higher
temperatures the material expands and elongates but at low
temperature it shrinks. |

Morphology:
We obtain the micro - structural features of our pipes through
scanning under Electro - microscope in collaboration with
Central Building Research Institute (CBRI), Roorkee from time to
time |
|
Field of
Application |
|
SFMC PP-R Products being physically superior,
hygienically safe and non-carcinogenic. |

UV Stability:
World - wide PP-R is not produced as UV stable, but as per the
Indian conditions we have incorporated UV stabilizers in our
production for all outdoor pipe sizes exposed directly under
Sunlight i.e., for size 25mm and above.

|
| |
ESCR:
In addition to all the above, we have testing facilities
available for Environmental Stress Crack Resistance. |
Guidelines For Welding Process |
|
The Processing times, like
heating, fusion and cooling, are shown in the table besides. |
| |
Pipe Joint Assembly and Fitting for PP-R Pipes:
DIN 16962. This is the testing for the PP-R fittings whereby
fittings after moulding are subjected to long terms pressure
testing or creep rupture test to study their behavior at
different pressure and temperature condtions. |
